Rancho Los Cerritos presents ''Unexpected Guests for the Holidays''

Friday, December 7 &
Saturday, December 8
Tours starting every few minutes between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m.
Advance reservations required

Tickets are on sale now for your magical journey to Christmas past. . . . You won't want to miss traveling by stagecoach to Los Angeles in 1878, only to have the dense fog force an unexpected stop at Rancho Los Cerritos. This turns out to be a pleasant interlude, as the Bixby family, their guests and ranch workers welcome you warmly and share their preparations for the holidays. Costumed docents will guide you through the adobe house by lamplight, where you can compare modern holiday traditions with yesteryear's. Living history presentations will also touch on technological advances in Los Angeles (gas lighting has arrived!), the Chinese community, church and charity, sheep ranching and more, to provide an intriguing glimpse of the Los Angeles region almost 130 years ago.

This is a great way to start the holiday season! Tickets are $10 each, $8 for members, and include the candlelight tour, live music and light refreshments. To purchase, please contact the Rancho at 562/570-1755 or pick up a flyer at your local library.

And plan ahead... Our annual Christmas Open House for families will take place on Sunday, December 16, from 1-4.
