  • LILLIAN VILLA-QUINTERO

I have been a passionate and devoted board member for over two years and a Wrigley resident for 7 plus years now. My husband and I began our involvement shortly after moving into the area. Through our involvement we were fortunate enough to meet great Wrigley leaders that guided us in helping clean our immediate neighborhood and introduced me to the Neighborhood Leadership Program. We worked closely with CPAC at the time and the city prosecutor in helping make our streets cleaner. I have always had a passion for community involvement since early on. I have been in numerous organizations but none have been so instrumental in my day to day life. Thanks to the Wrigley Association our two daughters are able to live in a better Wrigley. As a board member I have been tangled in this web of community involvement that I thrive for. Some of my accomplishments that stand out as a board member:

1) chairing the food committee for the Wrigley Kaboom park. In this project my role was to provide breakfast, lunch and snacks to 300 volunteers that would help build the park in one day. Thanks to the support of the police department, community members & organizations and of course the support W.A. I was successful in this task.

2) Worked side by side with Colleen and Joy in helping bring 3 tons of snow to our neighborhood kids to enjoy in Wrigley's Snow Day.

3) Was part of the committee that helped bring Broadway in Wrigley for our enjoyment.

4) Recently had the pleasure of working with Colleen and Raul in helping bring a Bike Rodeo to Wrigley.

5) Was part of the committee that helped bring conditions to an ABC licensing here in Wrigley. As I was writing this I was reminiscing on so much that the Wrigley Association does and has done for our community. I look forward to being part of many more wonderful events and causes.

My motivation is that I want to make this area better for my son when he grows up and because i believe that it takes a village to raise a child - i'd like to invest in the Wrigley Village so hopefully it will yield a great return in the future when our streets are safe and clean for our youth :)
