1. CALL TO ORDER at 7:04 P.M. By Chairperson Annie

?• Present: DANNY AMAT, JENNY BEAVER, DAVID CARLTON, CHRIS GRAEBER, JOAN GREENWOOD, ANNIE GREENFELD-WISNER, P.G. HERMAN, COLLEEN McDONALD

2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
?• M/S/C to approve the September 2008 minutes
?• M/S/C to approve the October 2008 minutes

3. MELISSA MORGAN AND ANTONIO RUIZ: ART PEACE
?• Melissa and Antonio explained the events and activities surrounding Art Peace. ArtPEACE is an eight-month campaign for Long Beach?’s Creative Community to create positive change for youth through their Art.

4. 6TH DISTRICT ANNOUNCEMENTS
?• Dee Andrews gave several announcements for events in the 6th District.
?• The Councilman announced the Job Fair that will take place on Nov. 9th.
?• He also mentioned the side walk repair list is complete.

5. 7TH DISTRICT ANNOUNCEMENTS
?• Tim Patton gave the report for the Councilwoman. He mentioned the Daisy Parade needs volunteers. The 7th District Council office is still working the side walk list for the District.

6. PG HERMAN RE: EARL EVENT AND SLIDE SHOW
?• PG reviewed and thanked the volunteers who helped to make this event a great success. She presented a slide show of the day?’s activities.

7. GENERAL MEETING KEYNOTE SPEAKERS:
?• CHIEF ANTHONY BATTS AND PROSECUTER TOM REEVES
?• The Chief gave a brief history of the recent past in Long Beach regarding the police department and crime problems. The Chief spoke about the budget reductions for this fiscal year.
?• Tom Reeves explained the impact of the budget cuts on his department.
?• Q & A
The Chief and City Prosecutor Reeves took questions from the members.

9. ANNOUNCEMENTS
?• Annie stressed the need for citizens to attend City Council meeting to save these departments from budget cuts.
