2. Approval of Minutes ?– No meeting in July due to Luau

3. Community Garden Project in Wrigley ?– Adriana Martinez

A short presentation was made regarding the Community Garden Project.

4. 6th District Announcements

a. John Edmonds, Chief of Staff for the Councilman made several announcements. He reminded the residents of the Budget Summit on August 27th.

5. 7th District Announcements
a. Tonia Reyes Uranga informed the membership of several meeting regarding the 710 and the City Budget.

6. General Meeting Speakers & Topics for August

Topic: Air Pollution/Port Pollution. Speakers:

a. Tonia Reyes ?– Uranga on behalf of AQMD
b. Candice Kim ?– Coalition for Clean Air
c. Rick Cameron ?– Port of Long Beach, Director of Environmental Development
d. Jon Zerolnick ?– LA Alliance for a New Economy

The moderator was Alan Tolkoff. The speakers discussed Port pollution and different plans to clean it up. Tonia distributed articles and information regarding pollution. Rick Cameron discussed the clean fuel and trucks program. Jon Zerolnick explained the need to establish an employee status for the Port drivers. Candice Kim discussed the health impact of the Port pollution.

7. Pacific Baptist Church Expansion Plans
Several speakers from the Pacific Baptist Church spoke about the plans for the church. There was a Q & A session. Questions ranged from parking problems to the use of the shuttles for the church programs. The Wrigley Association will post the plans on its website.
