About our association

Westwood Village I Neighborhood Watch Mission Statement

OUR MISSION:
Our mission is to insure that we bring the community together as a whole with respect to the differences between us. That we as one will be heard as a community with respect to zoning/planning, traffic, law enforcement, education, recreation, and economic development. To clean our community and strive to rid our community of decay and live in a fear free environment. So that our children and families may live in peace and harmony in an environment that we can be proud of.
REMEMBER TO TAKE PRIDE OF WHERE YOU LIVE

First Meeting

Our first meeting was held August 6, 2001 with about 125 people in attendance. Councilman Barrera was present along with a guest speaker from Metro Alliance. Many of the issues we face in the neighborhood were addressed. Our goal is to take baby steps in order to not be overwhelmed with ideas and duties. Please remember that all the Officers and Board Directors have a life also and nobody gets paid for any of there efforts. So with that I would personally like to thank all of our block leaders and volunteers for donating there time and efforts to make our community a better place to live. Our next meeting will be held Sept. 6th @ 7:30 @ Resurrection.
Meeting time and place starting in October will be the 3rd Thursday of every month. 7:30pm @ Resurrection of the Lord Church.

Clean Up Crew/C.O.P. (Cellular on Patrol)

We are also looking for volunteers to help clean up and paint on Saturdays. E. Rodriguez is our Director of Clean Up. Our Cellular on Patrol Program is about 14 people strong right now and we are always recruiting. We need you to be our eyes and ears of the Neighborhood. P. Lasinski is our Director of the C.O.P. Program. If you would like more information please contact Linda P. Martinez/MgaL1997@aol.com/210-645-6255/867-0363 and I can put you in contact with our directors.
