WALNUT CREEK ESTATES NA NEWS and DUES, May 2009

Sep 07, 2009

All residents should have received the 2009 voluntary dues notice. It will take a minimum of 125 residents paying their dues before we will be able to contract the maintenance for the entrances grass cutting and trimming. We are about 59% of the way there. In the mean time please have patience as we must now maintain the entrances with volunteers. It is not fair to the residents who have paid their dues to also have to do the physical work to maintain our neighborhood common areas. It takes all of us!
Congratulations to Walnut Creek Drive with 45% of households having paid their dues as of the end of AUGUST with Peppertree Place close behind at 37%.
What street will make 100% this year?

The neighborhood association needs block captains for the year June, 2009 to July, 2010. Some of their duties are:
1. Introduce yourself to the neighbors on your block.
2. Attend WCENA meetings whenever possible.
3. Represent the neighbors on your block that cannot be at meetings. Let the Association know their concerns.
4. Welcome new neighbors on your block and encourage them to join the association as dues paying members. (Members in good standing).
5. Work with the Association in code enforcement by alerting neighbors or Association Officers of violations.
6. Make sure all neighbors receive the neighborhood fliers and newsletters.

Welcome to those of you who are new to the neighborhood. The Walnut Creek Eastates Neighborhood Association sincerly wishes that you become members in good standing as well as good neighbors.

There have been an abundent of illegal signs in the city right-of way. Many were removed by the city recently, however this "litter on a stick" is getting thick again. Signs placed between the street and the side walk have been place there in violation of OKC code. Information about sign placement and sign permits is in Chapter 3 of the Oklahoma City Municipal Code. You can find the Code on line through the City's web site, www.okc.gov. A link is located on our home page.

The way your neighborhood looks is your responsibility as a resident of the neighborhood. Yard of the month, anyone? Look for details on this site in the near future.

Bulk trash, check your water bill for the date of pick up. More than 72 hours early could cost you a fine.
