Who we are

Voice of Braintree Catholic Cluster is an affiliate of Voice of The Faithful founded in Wellesley, MA. We are working with our pastors in the Braintree cluster to constructively respond to the crisis in the church and help our catholic community heal and move forward.

Please join the Voice of Braintree Catholic Cluster to hear Father Bill Clark, S.J. speak on ''The Laity and The Church'' with a discussion to follow. All are welcome and refreshments will be served afterwards.

Father Clark is a recognized expert on church communities. He is a member of the faculty of the College of the Holy Cross where he teaches Catholicism and conducts seminars on the meaning of church understood from the local perspective.

Professor Clark is a 1980 graduate of Williams College (magna cum laude; Phi Beta Kappa), where he majored in history, and also holds an M.A. in political philosophy from Loyola University of Chicago. He studied theology at the Weston Jesuit School of Theology (M.Div., 1992; S.T.L., 1995; S.T.D., 2001), and wrote his dissertation, entitled ''Authority and Intimacy: The Local Community as Foundational for the Universal Church,'' under the direction of Roger Haight, S.J. A recent presentation of his for the Karl Rahner Society, entitled ''The Authority of Local Church Communities: Perspectives From the Ecclesiology of Karl Rahner,'' is forthcoming in Philosophy and Theology (Marquette University Journal). Father Clark also has extensive experience in parish pastoral work, retreat direction, and music ministry, and recently produced a CD of original Christian music.

Mass Of Healing

Please also join us for a Mass of Healing on Friday, July 12 @7:00PM, at Saint Francis of Assisi. All are welcome, especially those who have been directly affected or alienated by the crisis in the church.
