PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE - Dec 2007

Mar 16, 2008

Merry Christmas and Seasonal Salutations! Mayor Hickenlooper recently unveiled new surveillance cameras that will be used to catch graffiti vandals, and city council will soon be passing new tough fines and mandatory minimum
community service hours for those who are caught. He has also vowed to rid the city of this vandalism by beefing up the crews that remove the damage. Make sure and call in any graffiti that you see?—just call 3-1-1. Please remember that the best defense against graffiti is its swift removal. You have 72 hours to remove it from your residence. If you cannot remove it, then call the 3-1-1 number and ask for
removal. There is no charge for removal if it is reported immediately. The Crime Summit?’s (see calendar, pg. 3) featured topic for a small part of the day?’s events will be presented by the Crime Lab, and cover how the department is using DNA to successful bring many of our local bad guys to justice. It will be a all-day event, but
at press time the exact agenda and hours were not set, so if you want to attend, give me phone call. All of our officers were reelected at the last meeting for another one-year term. All were willing to hang in there and give it ago for another year. We do need your help by letting us know what community information would be
most helpful or whom we should invite to speak at our meetings in 2008. Hope you get a great start on the New Year!
