Mission Statement

The Vet Center provides assistance to all veterans of the Vietnam-era and to all veterans who served in any theater of operations during any war, conflict or peacekeeping effort prior to and since the Vietnam Era.

We at the Brockton Vet Center want to be sure that you are aware of our existence and of the services we offer. Vet Centers have been around since 1979 to address needs unique to those who served. Unlike VA Medical Centers, eligibility for services is based only on having served. We are not concerned with your financial status or whether or not you have a service-connected disability. Vet Centers pride themselves on being user friendly and offer a relaxed, informal but professional atmosphere, where confidentiality is assured.

The Vet Center is a multifaceted human service agency funded by the Federal Government, offering readjustment counseling, benefits assistance, educational information, employment services and general information and advocacy. The Vet Center is particularly sensitive to issues surrounding Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), often resulting from exposure to traumatic events, such as combat or sexual assault, and manifested by symptoms such as nightmares, social isolation and depression, to name but a few.

Please consider this an invitation to contact us or to just stop in for coffee and meet us. The Vet Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, and by special arrangement.

Sincerely,

Sheila M. Spicer, R.N.,M.S.C.
