Our Vision

Uptown will be a distinctive, inviting, safe and sustainable business, residential and commercial district, complementing other Sacramento area neighborhoods, with pedestrian-friendly design; majority home ownership; good services including quality schools and health care; and a diverse range of positive commercial uses, retail opportunities and services, including arts and design related businesses and organizations, artists' residences and studios, cultural offerings and related uses.

Our Mission

To unify, streamline, complement and help support North Sacramento Community Organizations in their quest to bring stability, economic growth, identity as a destination location, increased home ownership, improved community services, businesses, and art institutions to North Sacramento.

Our Goals

1. Develop strategies that strengthen linkages between businesses and residential coalitions that have a stake in North Sacramento's revitalization.

2. Encourage a climate favorable to individuals and businesses interested in relocation to North Sacramento.

3. Actively seek to involve community businesses and residents in solving social problems thereby enhancing the quality of life in North Sacramento.

4. Define and implement new projects benefiting North Sacramento.

5. Refine and enhance Uptown's emerging identity as a cultural district.

6. Leverage and expand resources and services through grant and contract opportunities.

7. Build community capacity through education to encourage local decision-making.
