Located in O'Fallon MO. We patrol from the Two Branch Island on the Mississippi River North & South.As well ascthe Missouri River and area water ways including the St Louis river front.

USWP History & Information

The United States Water Patrol (U.S.W.P.) is a uniformed organization that uses U.S. Navy ranks in its military management methods. It is composed of Active, Former, and/or Retired members of the United States Armed Forces and Law Enforcement/Security officers and citizens from all types of backgrounds. All dedicated to the assurance of a safe and secure America for all.
United States Water Patrol
Was officially formed May 4 Th. 2001, as a uniformed volunteer organization to aid and assist the public on and near our waterways as well, in natural disasters. Search and Rescue, water related distress calls and informing the boating public on safe boating. Our primary mission of the USWP is Homeland Security on and around our waterways. We will also assist Federal, State and Local authorities in emergency situations as needed.

On Sept. 11th 2001 The USWP was put into service for Homeland Security within 1 hour after the 2nd attack on the World Trade Center in New York, NY. The USWP was on patrol guarding against possible terrorist attacks on targets that were on and along our waterways.

The United States Water Patrol's primary duty at this time is Homeland Security and will continue to do so as long as necessary and the ability to do so. Among Homeland Security, the USWP also provides the following duties & services:



Safety Patrols: Marking reporting and removing water hazards, monitoring unsafe Water conditions



Security: Patrolling and monitoring activities on and around, Marinas, Docks and Slips, Launching Ramps, Water front parks, vehicles parked around these sites, Boats & Ships at anchor, Tow boats & Barges, Factories and business along the water, Rail Road Tracks and Bridges, Power lines, Power Plants, Dams & Locks, Bridges along the highways over water, dock areas, Ports, Water Intakes, and Reservoirs.



Public Service: Providing Safe boating information, Safety and Life saving equipment.



Assistance: Towing, Gas, Search and Rescue, Boat fires, First Aid, Emergency message delivery, Boat recovery, Navigation, Launching and Docking assistance, Extracting boats.



Law Enforcement: We monitor and report unsafe boating, vandalism, theft, pollution, illegal dumping.



We are the eyes and ears and the front line of defense for our nation. Homeland Security is everyone's responsibility. To assist in any type of National State or Local Disaster by providing manpower, equipment, and support as needed. At the same time aid and assist the public on and along the waterways, being there to lend a hand when needed without charge.

The United States Water Patrol without charge or fee provides all this to anyone. Members do this solely for the satisfaction of making our Country and waterways safer and more enjoyable for all who use the nations waterways.
