Greening California:Funding Available fo Urban Forestry Projects

Grant funds available through California Releaf

Funding through the California Releaf 2005 Urban Forestry Grant Program is available to community-based groups: nonprofit organizations, unincorporated community groups, and city-affiliated volunteer entities - such as tree advisory boards or beautification committees - are eligible to apply. Applicants may submit only one proposal.

Individual grants range from $1,000 to $7,500

Projects must fall within one of the following three categories:
EDUCATION AND OUTREACH
TREE CARE
TREE PLANTING

Proposals must be postmarked on or before March 11, 2005

Notifications of award or denial will be mailed May 4. Grant recipients will have until June 30, 2006, to complete their projects.
