Tulsa World article
I read this article with great interest, since it's author unexpectedly contacted me for comments. I did respond with a lengthy email, but not surprisingly, was misquoted. Mr Million identified me as an American Indian, although I made no such statement to him. What I said was that I was born in Oklahoma, therefore I'm a native American and Oklahoman. He missed my point entirely; that a person's ''culture'' as he identified it (race) should not even be considered in this context. We're all in this together. Can't we just have an American culture?
I would be more that happy to forward a copy of my true comments in their entirety to anyone who should request this at my email address.
Regarding improvements to Johnson Park, that little bridge looks ok, but if we really want to help, we should prevail upon the city to restore the facilities which formerly existed at this park, including properly rebuilding and maintaining the tennis courts, and working to discourage the numerous acts of vandalism committed there.
