Gas compressor station just south of our neighborhood

Posted in: River Trails

Hello, neighbors.

THIS Wednesday (10/12/2011) is the first of two meetings regarding the zoning change and plan to build an enclosed gas compressor station next door to our neighborhood.  A gas compression station in the shadows of our neighborhood creates potential noise pollution, air quality, health hazards and threatens home values.

Melissa Mcdougall met with the Zoning Commisioner at the proposed site for the Gas Compression Station. He did inform us that we are the second item on the agenda. That means that we will be up rather quickly at the meeting on Wednesday and probably done by 10:30 am. Take an early lunch if you can and join us. We need the bodies there in the room.

Whether or not you are able to attend the meeting at 10am at city hall, I have a request.
PLEASE send an e-mail TODAY to the three addresses listed below (just copy and paste into your TO line). We'll flood the inboxes of the Zoning Commission, Mayor Price and our District 4 Councilman Scarth letting them know we are watching and listening to see their decision.

Your email can be very simple. Mention ZC-11-098 in your subject line. Tell them you don't want it next to your neighborhood. Tell them you don't want the property zoned Industrial next to your home. Tell them you have concerns for your family's health. Tell them you don't want to loose property value. Tell them you do not want it here. Any one or all of these things can be used to get their attention. JUST BE SURE TO TELL THEM.

Someone recently told me - Silence is consent. If we don't speak up, they assume we don't care or we're fine with it. I've spoken to many of you - and you care. Please be sure THEY know that you do!

PLEASE - take 5 minutes and send a simple email. If there are two adults in your household, then send two seperate emails.

Send your emails to the following addresses...

zoninglanduse@fortworthgov.org, betsy.price@fortworthgov.org, district4@fortworthgov.org

Also, if you have not already signed the petition, please contact Melissa McDougall to email you a copy, or you can stop by her house and fill one out real quick.

Thank you for your help in this fight!
