Trails of Fossil Creek

Hi everyone I am going to be moving to Ft Worth from OK, in a couple of months, and need to know of a safe area for me and my family I have 3 kids, elementary to high school. I will need to rent first before buying. My husband is being transferred to Wal-Mart, we can afford around 800/month for house or apartment. In a safe area please.

Hi there, I have been living in the Fairmount area for about 5 years now. I moved here from California and when I first got here, the neighborhood looked rough and it had a reputation of being a bad area, however, even then I saw the potential and you could see how much care the people that lived here were putting into their neighborhood. Even though it had it's issues with theft when I first moved here, it has really transformed itself into a really GREAT area, I LOVE living here. Everyone is very friendly and diverse and there are many young families around the neighborhood. It truly has been an amazing transformation. If you are looking into places around here you have to understand these houses are all made about 1920 and all though some have been remodeled some still look like they did originally. I'm not sure how much rental availability there is around the area or how much the rents but there are rental complex close to the area that are affordable. I lived at the Homes of parker Commons when I first got here but many other complex have been built since then. The schools around the area are good and safe. I live close to them and I see kids walking to school all the time.It's very close to downtown and it's got a new strip of awesome restaurants and businesses (Magnolia Ave) its got it's own voluntary neighborhood association and little arts center. Also the hospitals are part of the area. I don't think I would want to live anywhere else in Fort Worth. Hope this helps
