Tenth St. Historic District

Arden Trail Maintenance

Posted in: Cedar Haven

The state paid half of the cost to build this trail.

This is why GrowSouth doesn't work. There is a new trail that was built in southern Dallas. We as denizens of the community would like and keep begging for a trail along the 2 mile stretch from Eighth Street to Illinois, along the old InterUrban Line; (Oncor and DART R-O-W); part of which is already built. The Trinity Trestle is our closest trail.

But I digress. The Glendale to Arden trail has been built. Nice structure. Horrible maintenance. It is full of decaying vegetation and sediment. No one is sweeping it. So even when we get stuff in the south, it is not taking care of like it should. I would say the same thing for the tees that were planted at Glendale park a few years ago. Nice idea. No maintenance.

The Arden Trail that goes from the Glendale Loop and to Arden Park is full of debris from the trees and sediment from the run-off. It needs to be swept in the worst way. It is basically un-walkable.

It is deplorable for a new trail to have so little upkeep.
