WE ARE THE FUTURE!!!

We are the first ever National Parks Conservation Association Youth Advisory Council. It is the first time ever in history, that such a program has been created. There are six chapters across the nation they are: Boston, San Francisco, Miami, Washington D.C. and Los Angeles. We are the Los Angeles Chapter named, T.H.E. F.L.A.B.A.,acronym for, To Help our Environment & Future of Los Angeles for a better America. Our main goal is to bring cultural diversity in all aspects of the environmental field,e.g. environmetal law, outdoor education, forest fire fighters etc. Sadly this is an area that does not represent the people of America. We Bring flaba to the parks. (our name is pronounced as in flavor)

History

The National Parks Conservation Association with the National Parks Service holds an annual conference properly titled, ''Mosaic In Motion''. People from various groups and from across the nation gather to explore and challenge the issues of diversity within the National Park Service. During the second annual conference in Santa Fe, New Mexico, a workshop was held to figure out, how to involve youth(I mean after all we are the future)?. The voices of tommorows leader were heard and from this the National Parks Conservation Association Youth Advisory Council was born. Since then the council has gathered twice on a national level. In Washington D.C. and during the third ''Mosaic In Motion,'' in Stone Mountain, Georgia. This council is made up of youth representitives from each city and each with their own respective goals.
