Southmoor Gardens Neighborhood Association

Although it got a few chuckles in the 11/8 meeting :) , I think some form of ?‘neighborhood spirit?’ on the 28th will help to get us recognized. If you are able to attend, and if you so choose, please wear any RED shirt or a black shirt to the November 28th meeting. I will print stickers/buttons to distribute to those in attendance with messages like ?– ?“Save Southmoor?”, ?“Preserve our Neighborhood?”, etc. that we all can wear. This should make it easy enough for folks to participate and should help the Planning Commission to recognize us for the unified and determined group we are!

Signs for each neighborhood yard. Maybe we could take a collection in the neighborhood for printing costs?

Write articles to the OP Sun and KC Star along with pictures.

I am pleased to see that the neighborhood is beginning to chat. I will be at the 11/14 meeting and it is a good idea to identify ourselves at the 11/28 meeting. I will be wearing black. I contacted the Sun Overland Park reported Friday Nov. 11th. He was up to date on the rezoning issue as well as the master plan concept. He took my name and number and asked if he could call me in the future. I would love it if more of you would call him. I am afraid I didn't get his name but he is the reporter for the city of Overland Park. I plan to contact the Overland Park Star desk Monday. There is a lenghty article about the redeveloment of the Mission Mall and it's affects on the Roeland Park neighborhood to the north of the mall. Sounds like similiar concerns and issues that we are facing. Thank you Kara for your enthusiasm. Linda
