Southern Pines

I recently was made aware of the fact that our local shopping center (Great Southern) has become the number one place to purchase heroin.  The sellers prefer our shopping cntr due to its location near 270.  Buyers come from all over the state to make their purchases from sellers located in their cars.  They have a signal that is used between buyers and sellers.  This activity is causing more crime within our area. The participants of this crime are trying to pass bad checks at the local banks and shop lifting in order to meet their demand for cash.  The sellers park among the highest concentration of parked vehicles in order to hide their transactions.  The police are aware of this activity and at this point are unable to spot the situation.  I am posting this in order for others to be aware and to take actions that will keep you safe from these people.  Also many of the drivers coming into the area are high and driving, so be aware of their presence.  Driving while high on heroin can not be the safest way to travel our area, yet they are doing it in high numbers.

I am also reporting a second situation that is occuring in our area.  Sheds and Garages are being targeted for break ins.  The theives are unscrewing any security lights before they actually break in.  One report had at least one vehicle being a maroon or dark red SUV type vehicle.  The driver was a white gentlemen with dark curly hair and he has a beard.  Others report a older Cadillac with two white men breaking into sheds and garages. 

as of recently they are breaking into cars all over southern pines so watch your stuff and keep everything lockedup tight.i live here so i hear about it daily now we all need to come together and try to put a stop to this.

I just saw this post today, nearly a year later.  I hope things have cleaned up over there at the shopping center.  Is there any new news for the area. ?
