The South Shore Model railroard club has been around since 1938.
The club started in a basement of a store in Quincy, Mass.
During WWII the club moved to a members basement until the end of the war.
From 1946 the club moved to different stores in Braintree and Quincy. In 1953 the club moved into a basement of a block of stores on Middle St.in Weymouth and stayed there until 1998. In 1998 the club moved to Building 51 Bare Cove Park, Hingham, MAss. This an old ammunition warehouse that has 10,000 sq. ft. of space.The club is now in the process of building a new layouy. This will be DCC controlled. The layout room will be about 50' x 130'.

The club holds two open houses a year. One in March and one in October.
In March the club also hosts a large train show.There is an admission charge of $4.00.
THE CLUB IS OPEN MOST EVERY
MONDAY AND THUSDAY EVENINGS FROM ABOUT 6:30PM. AND ON MOST SATURDAYS FROM 10:00AM.
THERE ARE CLUB MEMBERS THERE WORKING ON THE BUILDING OR THE LAYOUT AND ARE HAPPY TO SHOW YOU AROUND AND ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS.
THE FIRST MONDAY OF THE MONTH IS A BUSINESS MEETING.
