SCA - 2005 - COMMITTEES

Standing Committees

1. ARCHITECTURAL CONTROL - Check/Verify/Approve schematic drawings of architectural change requests and very that completed project meets all requirements.

2. ASSOCIATE MEMBERS/BUSINESS COMMUNITY & APARTMENT LIAISON - Solicit Associate Memberships from business. Represent SCA to local businesses, apartments and Chambers of Commerce. Work with local business to make Sharpstown a better place to live.

3. AUTOMATED SYSTEMS - Computer Hardware & Software.

4. DEED RESTRICTIONS - This committee is the enforcement team for the deed restrictions within all sections of Sharpstown.

5. ESPLANADE MAINTENANCE& BEAUTIFICATION and NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS - Monitor Esplanade Contractor, Esplanade Signs and Esplanade clean up. Improve neighborhood parks by working with various governmental entities and business partners.

6. FINANCE - Budgeting, Financial Records, Strategic Planning.

7. GOVERNMENT RELATIONS - Liaison to City, County and State Offices.

8. GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING - Monthly Program presentation.

9. LEGAL/CONTRACTS - Assure contracts SCA enters into with other entities are sound.

10. MOSQUITO CONTROL - Monitor mosquito fogging contractor.

11. MEMBERSHIP - Responsible for annual billing efforts. Analyzes demographic traits, which affect billing. Sponsors annual phone bank to supplement billing effort.

12. NATURE COMMITTEE - Study birds, plants, etc. to promote friendship in the community.

13. NEIGHBORHOOD SCHOOLS - Public and Private Schools.

14. NOMINATING Committee - Solicit nominations and review for potential board members.

15. OUTREACH/COMMUNITY COALITION AND TRANSLATION - Newcomer welcome; reach out to different ethnic groups; coordinate translation material aimed at specific ethnic groups.

16. OFFICE OPERATIONS/S.C.A. ASSETS - Monitor S.C.A. office facility and staff

17. PUBLIC AFFAIRS - Media relations and promotional activities.

18. SECURITY - Constable Program liaison to Houston Police Department.

19. SCAN - Write, edit and Coordinate Articles from Staff, Board of Directors and Sharpstown residents; Photography; Deadline and Delivery; Secure and invoice Advertisements.

20. AMENDED (UNIFORM)/RESTATED DEED RESTRICTIONS - Secure required signatures by section and file with appropriate authorities for implementation.

21. YARD OF THE MONTH/CHRISTMAS LIGHTS - Judge/Select Yard of the month; judge/Select Best Christmas Lights Display.
