New Development in Rosemont

Posted in: Rosemont

Now that the High School has been completed, I have heard they are planning to develop the area behind the High School with new homes. Does anyone have any information on this. Also, would this mean the possible expansion of Mayhew through to Jackson Road, or is this going to be a gated community development?

Gated Housing

I attended an Assoc. meeting where the topic was the gated housing tract. The builder had not been chosen at that time, but the homes would be in the mid to upper price range. It is my understanding that Mayhew will NOT be expanded to Jackson.

My apologies as I hadn't checked this area in some time. Yes, there is a development of homes going in behind the high school. The builder will be Meritage Homes. It is a gated community. I don't know if you are a member of RCA but this has been covered extensively in our newsletter.

There are no current plans that we know of to extend Mayhew. In fact, Mayhew will be ''narrowed'' and have flashing red lights added at Micron and Rosemont within the next year or so. About 3 years down the line, there is money to actually landscape and permanently ''narrow'' Mayhew. (By ''narrow,'' I mean one normal width lane each direction as opposed to the 80 foot wide raceway that we have currently.)
