Rolling Meadows Homeowners Association

Rolling Meadows Past and Present

The area now known as Rolling Meadows neighborhood began as Johnson Station, established in the 1840's as the headquarters for the Texas Rangers and as a trading post. It was owned by Col. Middleton Tate Johnson, father of Tarrant County, who also owned Johnson Plantation, that raised cotton on it's vast acreage, where our townhouses now stand.

Johnson Station was also the site of the first stagecoach inn serving as an overnight stop between Ft. Worth and Dallas between 1870-1930's.

Johnson Station Cemetery, adjacent to our neighborhood, serves as a reminder of that early settlement marking the burial sites of pioneer settlers and veterans of the Civil War.

The first phase of our townhouse neighborhood of seventy-nine homes was developed in 1973, with the second phase being completed in 1979. People are attracted to Rolling Meadows because of affordable housing and the convenience of the Parks Mall, many churches, parks, schools, and restaurants within walking distance.

We are a non profit organization who's purpose and goal is to keep our properties in good condition while maintaining strict financial spending controls. Our board of directors consists of nine members who oversee implementing the guidelines set forth in our covenants and by-laws. Three of our board members attended the Arlington Neighborhood Acadamy 2000.

In looking to the future, Rolling Meadows residents share a vision of working together to create a friendly atmosphere of cooperation while developing and maintaining a beautiful neighborhood.
