I know its a subject everyone hates to discuss. However will all the recent comments made about speeders, I think it is time to start talking about this. The widening of 101st is inevitable. When this happens speeding will only get worse as people take shortcuts around the 101st/Mem intersection. Gating, or an entrance with the possibility of future gating should be considered for the south main entrance.

I know it will be mentioned that emergency service would be endangered, but there are many technological advances to alleviate those issues.

Personally I would take a deterrent gate any day over a kid getting run over by a shortcutting speeder.

Gating deters vandalism

It may be because my house sits at an intersection, but I have my holiday decorations vandalized every year. Gating would deter this, as well.
