Police Storefront

Posted in: Redwood Village
The UT has reported that the City of San Diego might cut police storefront offices. I would hate to see our storefront office closed in the Food 4 Less shopping center on University. Officer Pat Norris has been a great help to us on Marron Street in neighborhood problems. Does anyone have any particular information regarding this?

I read the same article and am also concerned about the possible closure of our storefront. I have a call into Officer Norris to find out what he knows and what we can do to keep the storefront open.

Officer Norris Comments

I talked to Officer Norris and he said the University Square office will not be closing. The proposed closures would be in locations where a police store front shares space with a community center. Chief Landsdowne has said that that case the police store front would be moved to another location.

However, this bring up the point that the College/Rolando Center next to the library may be closed due to budget cuts.
