DUMPERS BEWARE!!! YOU WILL BE REPORTED!!!

"NO DUMPING ALLOWED IN THE PLEASANTVILLE COMMUNITY"

Residents of Pleasantville caught individuals illegally dumping home construction wood, lumber, roofing shingles & other building materials at the bus stop located on Tilgham Street at Pleasantville Drive, late Tuesday night, December 16, 2008.

Residents immediately contacted HPD at 713-884-3131 to report the illegal dumping.

One of the perpetrators claimed she was not aware she was breaking the law because they had always dumped trash at this location and the city always picked it up.

The City of Houston has an ongoing and very successful communication campaign of informing the public of the city ordinances against this type of illegal activity. It's called: "STOP TRASHING HOUSTON."

The Pleasantville Area Super Neighborhood and the Pleasantville Civic League have invited HPD Neighborhood Protection to numerous community meetings to educate the residents of Pleasantville on the proper way to dispose of their trash & home repair materials.

The Pleasantville Strategic Planning Committee and the Pleasantville Environmental Coalition are strong supporters of the efforts to preserve the integrity and prevent illegal dumping in our community.

We encourage all residents to report any illegal dumping to 311 &/or HPD at 713-884-3131.

Help us to keep Pleasantville a Proud Deed Restricted Community.

Thank you to all of the unsung heroes that contribute to maintaining the "Quality of Life" in the Pleasantville community.
