Pleasantville Strategic Planning and Revitalization Committee

History of the Strategic Planning Committee

We are the Strategic Planning and Revitalization Committee for the Pleasantville Deed Restricted Community, created on Thursday, January 20, 2005-a partnership of the Pleasantville Area Super Neighborhood Council #57, the Pleasantville Civic League, and the Pleasantville Housing and Community Development Corp., with the assistance of the City of Houston Planning and Development Dept. and the Barbara Jordan-Mickey Leland School of Public Affairs at Texas Southern Univerity.

Our Mission Statement

The "Mission" of the Pleasantville Strategic and Revitalization Planning Committee, is to increase stakeholder values, improve the economic and housing development in the Pleasantville community.

Our Vision

To build capacity for flexibility, corporate venturing, with long-range goals set through strategic planning, translated into economic growth and development.

MISSION STATEMENT:

The Mission of the Pleasantville Area Strategic Planning and Revitalization Committee is to improve the "Quality of Life" for the current and future residents of the Pleasantville Community through educational and motivational projects by involving all of the residents, businesses, schools, local churches and community based-organizations.

VISION STATEMENT:

The Vision of the Pleasantville Strategic Planning and Revitalization Committee is to Serve as a framework for decisions for securing support to provide a basis for more detailed planning and to assist with benchmarking & performance monitoring to stimulate change and become a building block for the next capital improvement plan.

STRATEGIC FORMAT:

The Pleasantville Strategic Planning and Revitalization Committee will work collaboratively with existing civic and community-based organizations by taking a fragmented approach to create educational programs which address the issues and concerns raised in the "First Community-wide Survey" conducted by the Texas Southern University Students in 2005.
