Park Place Civic Associaton Meeting Minutes

10/07/99 (7:30 - 9:00 p.m.)

1. Handout September 9th PPCA minutes, meeting agenda and member list.
2. Posted minutes on web site.
3. Recap of Community Day.

III New Business

1. Treasurer update - No dues collected to date. Deadline to pay dues December 31, 1999.

2. Deadline to get Area Rep's literture out by November meeting, scheduled November 4, 1999.

3. Melinda Alic talked to city about any conflicts with hiring private snow repair. No conflict.
4. Committee Updates -
5. Traffic and Safety - Checking on tornado sirens, feel it is a school safety issue. Mike Fisher checking on street lighting for phases that have none. 60% of street has to agree, approx. $700 per lot, which can be spread over a 10 years.

6. Welcome Wagon - Committe checking with PANDA Publication regarding a neighborhood directory. PANDA gets advertisers to pay for entire cost of book. No cost to PPCA or our residents. Fay Johnson would like residental info by November 1, 1999. PANDA recommends that we have residents initial their info. Fay shows us 2 other neighborhood directories that Panda published. Fay highly recommends. Melinda puts to vote for us to move forward, majority vote for directory.
7. Newsletter - Melinda Alic will put together newsletter and give to Melinda Combs. Melinda Combs will copy and mail.

8. Beautification - Checking on mums and with landscaping companies.

9. Activity - Halloween Parade, need volunteers for signs and crowd control. Happy Holiday cards - looking for inexpensive ot donated cards.

10. Blockwatch - Capt. Mark Rowlands from Fairfield County Sherrif Office speaks - Fairfield County Sherrif office protrolls and responds to our area. SEE (Sherrif Eyes and Ears Program) citizens working with law inforcement officers. Count on them for DARE Program, vacation check (3 times a day officier will get out of car and check outside of house). They also have 3 K-9 and narcatic officiers. They will drop off tapes, brochures and stickers with phone numbers. Thank you Capt. Mark Rowlands for your time and information!!
