Supermarket Math at Stop&Shop

March 30th, Tuesday from 4-7pm is our 2nd annual PIP Supermarket Math Nite at Stop & Shop.

A partnership with Stop & Shop in Braintree has helped us launch a fun, family math experience in the supermarket! PIP creates a scavenger hunt throughout Stop & Shop to guide families up & down the aisles to show that math is everywhere!

Creative Stations are also set up for our families to do fun math based activities like building and measuring the largest toothpick & gumdrop structure, creating the perfect healthy snack and matching pasta to their geometric shapes - to name a few.

We also include the chance to work at the checkout ''zapping'' the product bar codes to create their grocery check out receipt.

All children leave with a bag of goodies Stop & Shop and their vendors have prepared for our event.

''Taste of Braintree'' May 23rd

at F1 Boston in Braintree

EVENT DESCRIPTION:
This is a family focused fundraiser to support the work of the Parent Involvement Program (PIP). PIP is an all-volunteer organization of parents that work with school staff and adminstrators, area resources and the south shore business community to bring educational & fun experiences in Math, Science & Technology to families. This year?’s proceeds will help bring a Robotics After School Family Program to life and support PIP?’s expansion.

FOOD:
Area restaurants and chefs serve bite-sized samples to our family guests. Names of participating businesses will appear in our event program book. We currently have reservations for Bertucci?’s, Chilis, Rock Bottom, and the Weymouth Club Caf?©, to name a few.

CHOCOLATE:
A ?“Best Chocolate?” contest will have area bakeries displaying their best chocolate to entice our guests to vote for their favorite dessert! Dip your favorite treats into a chocolate fountain, courtesy of the Bay Tower Room.

INDOOR CAR RACING :
PIP chose F1 Boston, on Wood Road in Braintree, for this fun event (see www.f1boston.com). Track 1 will have a Corporate Sponsored 1 hour Endurance Race, where area businesses race for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards. Each team has 5 racing members. Track 2 is reserved for our adult guests to introduce the thrill and excitement of F1 car racing. Racing tickets are priced separately.

SILENT AUCTION :
A silent auction will take place throughout the event with various family, sports and educational items. We are looking for auction items and gift certificates.

BALLOONS, BALLOONS, BALLOONS :
Colorful helium balloons filled with gift certificates will be sold for a nominal price.

FREE INSTANT PHOTOS :
Each guest has the opportunity to have their picture taken in a racing suit or just as they are! Get your picture on a button, key chain or magnet. We are looking for a sponsor for this keepsake corner!

MARTIAL ARTS DEMO:
To keep our event full of family fun, we have invited a local martial arts school to have an exciting, fast paced demonstration by children and adults.

ROBOTICS DEMONSTRATION:
We are pleased to have students from the Braintree High School to display their ?“robots?” to create interest and excitement for our proposed Robotics After School Family Program.
