Money Laundering

I wanted to briefly touch on a couple of issues I will have much more to say about later this week. That is the subject of money laundering.

If you happened to be a crooked lawyer and you also wanted to get certain decisions passed by an even more crooked city council one would think that to do that someone would want to be PAID OFF!!!

So to avoid being detected giving these pay offs (or should we say bribes) one would need to be very careful in how they delivered the money or other items of value.

One method apparently used here in Pickerington is the LLC (Limited Liability Corporation). These corporations were set up to protect investors and to limit their risks to only the money invested in the LLC.

However with the sharp legal crooked minds that have been in play in Pickerington for over a quarter of a century we have found an even better use for the LLC. That is to launder money.

If we also look at the number of LLC that ''ALWAYS SEEM'' to be the beneficiary of Pickerington City Council Decisions and the ethically challenged former council members would it lead one to believe that some of these councilmen had been made ''silent partners''? That they could collect their share of the LLC profits and really who would know?

Please rest assured there are plenty of crumbs left by one former PATA Guru that moved to the Great NW and I will connect the dots here very soon.

One second method we have suspected they used was Las Vegas and gambling. It has been rumored that one local attorney has been the bag man for years in delivering the pay offs.

If I wanted to give you say $40,000 in cash for say a zoning decision or a vote, what better way than to pay for one of those chartered flights to Las Vegas and buy you $40,000 or $50,000 in chips and then hang out for an hour or two and you go back and cash in your chips for cash and back home you head. No trace of any money changing hands. You might need to reduce the purchase of chips to less than $10,000 per visit to the casino casher.

Then there is also the purchase option described early on the Strickland property.

Then how do you keep the City Hall employees quiet? If as a City Manager you control the Civil Service commission (Personal Appeals Board) and those appointed have a vested interest in the decisions and the type of employees that could and needed to be controlled then we can see that for years city hall was clamped down tight. NO whistle blowers here.


In November of 2003 this crime syndicate took a direct hit. They were ousted and did a tactical retreat so they could fight another day. Although they have taken a number of casualties over the last three years they still have the will to fight and steal from our community.

Keep your powder dry and stay vigil or we will return to this corruption cycle again in 2006. As Lisa mentioned we are only ONE VOTE AWAY form losing it ALL.
