PATA will convert this Facilites report to PDF in the next few days and post it on the site. I hope the schools do it first as it should come from them but we will not wait.

Cross Section of Community

This Pickerington School Facilities Committee was not a diverse group.

The group started with 25 members. Of those 25 members there were NINE STAFF and UNION members.

TEN people quite the committee.

That leaves 9 staff and only 6 community members to make the final recommendations.

This committee and its report is getting less creditable to me every day.

Now if we left these recommendations to staff what would any of us expect?

If the school board accepts this report as unbiased then we are still going down that same path.

Get on the committee

You seem to have strong ideas about how things should be done...why not get on the committee? I believe the committee is open to all community members who want to contribute and that this committee may become a standing committee.

FRC Members

The BOE made sure the original FRC was made up of a cross-section of the district. Representatives of each building were chosen - some teachers, some administrators, some support personnel. Besides being employees of the PLSD, all the above are also residents of the district. The rest of the group was made up of residents of the district and included married and single people, some with children, others without, and some senior citizens. After the intial recommendation regarding what to put on the ballot in February, some members did drop off. This included both district employees and nonemployees. And, to maintain the balance, 2 more residents, who are not employees of the district, were added. The public was welcome to attend any and all of the meetings.
