You missed the point
My point was simply: congratulate the kid on his achievement. Then, in a different thread, or in a new topic, bash the school district all you want. Your rant simply had no place under the topic.
Your attempt to denigrate the North district reflects poorly upon you.
And, I never claimed to know everything about what goes on in this district. I know more than some, less than others, like everybody else. When my kids were in school, we were involved in many activities, but the academic boosters were not one of them, directly.
My kids were out of the system prior to the split, and I have not visited any website to see how to become part of the group. I made my comments about the experiences I had as a parent going to many different booster/support group meetings over many years. If the academic boosters ways are different, so be it. Try not to let your anger against anyone who happens to live in the North district color everything you have to say. Would it have been so hard to point out how they elect their officers? Civilly?
There is talk of re-districting in the future, perhaps on the high school level. If that happens, you will certainly welcome all that ''rich'' formerly-North money, won't you?
We have lived in the same house for 15 years, so we were not among the millions who apparently must have fled the poor, downtrodden Central area for the Golden Palace of the North you seem to ascribe to us. When the former PHS was opened, it was a ''Taj Mahal'', according to some. I would venture that a similar attitude toward most new buildings occurs everywhere. No matter how much is spent, someone always feels there is too much waste, but virtually no one has tried to do anything about it beforehand, asking to see plans and drawings, attending meetings and asking questions. If you ask questions, it may occur to board members that there may be something to what you have to say.
Two schools, one community, isn't a pipe dream. Why not do things together? Talk to Chuck Kemper, and ask him what North has that Central doesn't, academically. The answer may surprise you.
