Is this needed?

Let me get this straight. We just built a new High School because Ridgeview was over crowded. Now the tax payers relieved the overcrowding by building this new school and we now are adding on to the football stadium to seat more people from a smaller school.

The last time I was down during a game there was a lot of empty seats. Is this one of those ''get equal'' moves?

If the board is expanding this stadium and wasting taxpayers money again then they should not be surprised to see another levy fail. When will they learn?
A little info...

Actually permits do exist - they are not under the PLSD, but under the contractor that has the project. We work closely with the City & Township to make sure what work that does go on within the school district meets all codes.

As it relates to the Stadium Renovation - we've had a structural engineer give a report to the district last year that the current stadium at Central would need replaced within the next couple of years - it had surpassed it's useful life & would not continue to be safe for the people that utilized it. That being said, Tiger Stadium has one of the top three fields in Central Ohio - voted by high school coaches. There is a lot of tradition at that stadium one that we believe needs to be maintained & restored. What's being built at Central is the stadium size that will serve the school when it is at full capacity & very close to the standard number of seats you will find at any high school stadium. Building a smaller stadium now to accomodate a smaller population would create a bigger expense down the road to expand a facility that would not serve the long term needs of the school.

I invited anyone with any questions to contact me directly via email or attend our next Board meeting which will be held at 7pm at Heritage.
Date of meeting

Mrs. Reade inadvertantly left off the date of the next Board meeting. It is next Monday, April 11, at 7:00 p.m. at Heritage.
Sorry Lisa

Sorry Lisa, I don't buy that line about structural integrity. It's parity, pure and simple. And the stadium project is the first of many that we'll be paying for in the near future nder the guise of safety.

If the stadium has a few more years in it then wait until then to repair it. As an aside- how many other OCC schools have replaced their stands in the past ten years due to 'useful life' issues. None come to mind for me, therefore the parity thought as the true reason for the project.
