Build Them And They WILL Come?…?….
Sure, let?’s go ahead and build some new schools for the new home developers to use as selling points for their new homes.
Sure, let?’s go ahead and tax ourselves to oblivion so that the developers can maximize their profits on our backs.
Sure, let?’s build more schools so the developers can continue building more and more houses and condominiums to clog 256. It only took me thirty five minutes to get from Stonecreek to Route 70 this morning. What?’s another 20 minutes @ $2.00+ per gallon?
If we wise up and slow the building of schools the developers will lose the prestige factor that they blatantly use in their advertising.
Sure, it might be inconvenient for a while, but think of the advantages.
Possibly we will end up with an administration that will maximize the use of our tax dollars instead of building college campus look-alikes.
Possibly we will end up with an administration that will learn to spend wiser instead of ?“going to the boss?” to ask for a raise every time things get tight.
Folks, the well is only so deep. Once the water runs out all that is left is mud.
If you think things are bad now, just build the developers more elementary schools. They will breed middle schools, junior highs and high schools.
GOT ENOUGH MONEY FOR THOSE TOO?…?????
Don?’t forget about the additional operating levies that will be needed as well?…?…
Wake up sheeple, before it is too late.

Here's a newsflash.......
''They'' are already here. The portable classrooms will need replaced if we do nothing. That impacts operating funds. There are already over 600 kids that go to school in trailers. That's almost enough for another school. If schools aren't built & the need for seats exceeds the PLSD's ability to seat students - we have three choices. All viable - split sessions, year round school, or a redistribution of grades to utilize space at Ridgeview & Central.
Let's talk about the pro's & con's.......

Ya Thinks Things Are Bad Now???
Hey NEWSFLASH GORDON?…..
1. Why not fully utilize the empty spaces that we have before asking for more tax money?
2. Split sessions worked in Pickerington before and they CAN work again.
3. Year round school? Now that sounds like an efficient use of space. Why should AIR CONDITIONED buildings sit empty during the summer. School once was not in summer session because of the HEAT and the children were needed to work in the fields. How many PRIVLEGED Picktown kids have to work in the fields? Let?’s use the buildings for all they are worth.
So, in a nutshell, your suggestions ALL seem to be viable. Good work?…!!!!!
Looks like all PRO?’S to me.
And as to the fact that that they are already here, JUST WAIT AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU BUILD THE DEVELOPERS ALL THOSE NEW SCHOOLS. They won?’t have any qualms about packing those to capacity in short order.
Ya think things are bad NOW?????????
If you aren?’t a developer or large land holder in this area you are just voting against your own best interests if you support the bond issue.

Hey Joe!!
Type_Document_Title_Here
Joe, buddy, pal, Ol' Shoeless one,
RIGHT ON!! Thanks for the wake up call. Pickerington schools are the single biggest selling point for the developers. Quit expanding and they will cease to be such a bait. Then when the builders need a new hook, let them build a couple of damned schools. They have the resources to do this. Let them build a new elementary and middle school so the kids at Heritage quit getting screwed over.
The schools have always blamed the city for not slowing growth. Now we see that the township they never blamed may be and have been the culprit all along. But the schools never took any responsibility. Listen up!! SPLIT SESSIONS WERE GREAT. I thoroughly enjoyed them. The only people to bi#ch and moan are those overpaid under worked whiners you have on staff. Bring on the splits. Maybe that will help curb growth.
Oh, by the way Lisa Reade - YOU LIED over and over again about equitable treatment of Heritage Middle Schoolers when you stated that they received all the same benefits as Diley and Harmon. Not even close. Did Heritage get to see any of the plays or musical presentations again this year that Diley and Harmon got to go to? NO!! They were off-loaded from the buses taking them there to go back and eat lunch -- AT 9:50 A freaking M. Toopes isn't a principal, he's a politician. Great pick there school board. Lisa, the curriculum is the same for the students but not one other single thing is. Should a kindergartner have to share a restroom with 6th grade girls talking graphically about their boyfriends and drinking parties? Why can't Heritage have Art Club like the others? Why can't Heritage have chess club like the others? Why can't Heritage have enough entrees for all students that want them? Why can't Heritage have more than 10 minutes to actually eat whatever lunch you stick them with after waiting in line for over 20 minutes (and them being told that they can't have an entree)?
Go talk to the parents about how their kids have missed nearly every middle school experience there is. Go talk to the PTA about how they feel about politician Toopes and you, the board at what the kids have been cheated out of. Go face the 6th graders who were your test group for all the crap you tried to float about how you can retrograde an elementary into a middle school. Go apologize for taking away two years from them that their friends whose parents were smart enough (or tipped off by the board) to open enroll their kids at other schools. Don't try to tell them you'll make it up to them. YOU CAN'T. Tell them the truth and promise them that you will never do this to another group of kids again.
Oh, and by the way, you may want to tell all your adminstrative staff that yes, there is a Heritage Middle School. When I called the admin office the other day, they said we only have Harmon and Diley. Heritage is an elementary. Where are the signs that politician Toopes promised us that they would install for Heritage Middle?
The schools should share equal blame for the situation they are in. Quit pointing fingers.
