I picked bone; struck nerve... oops. But I detect a mixed message from you, ''content''. It sort of sounds like we're on the same page... I think. That is, if you're ''content'' with the way things are, the way your city has been run and you agree, THERE WILL BE NO MERGER... EVER !!!
But if you're ''content'', why are you wasting your time tapping out 5 pages of stuff on your keyboard. You're obviously miffed that your scare tactics didn't work. You're peeved that you can't control the world and especially Violet Township from your computer. And you're mad that we're not buying that crap about the ''greater good of our community''. Relax dude. It's not good for your blood pressure. Spend some time cleaning your gun or something.
We township folk like it the way things are. Why change anything? Our trash gets picked up, too, and if they're a week late picking it up, our trash will stay there until they get it, maggots & all... without threat of fine or nosy neighbors breathing down our necks. I feel good about the way my trustees are handling OUR business. And I am more than satisfied with the school's performance. We're all delighted here in the township. But you city slickers are always trying to drag us down with your complaining and grumblings and telling everyone that the sky is falling. You're always talking about levies, money, traffic, police, yada, yada, yada. You worry about everything! And, you're always trying to use your municipal muscle for the greater good of your kingdom. Ask any township resident who hasn't been on the school board - we don't want any part of your city! Let us alone why don't you?!? We ain't too bright, but we ain't as dumb as you think we are.
You see, ''content'', there's the way things are and there's the way we'd like things to be. The latter doesn't always happen. And when that happens, you shouldn't continue to dwell on it for 5 pages and let it eat at you. I'm glad you're ''content'' with city life (I think), but don't try to drag me into it. Just accept the fact that THERE WILL NEVER BE A MERGER and get on with your life.
I'm here to inform people, like you, that don't get it, and even some township folk who have delusions of controlling growth by way of merger that THERE WILL BE NO MERGER - PERIOD! How many times do we have to tell you people?! ? Our current collective and undiluted VOICE is our vote. In other words, the majority of unincorporated township residents will have to VOTE for a merger. And TRUST me, that won't happen. Not now, not ever. Eventually, all the land in the area will be built out. Problem solved !!!
So you stay over there where you like it and we'll stay where we like it... and the world will turn. Don't worry, be happy!
