3.22 per acre for Violet?

Posted in: PATA
math is fine

You missed the fine print from Dominion's attorneys, Dominion wants to cram all of those houses on the 149 acres that remain after the school land donation, the subdivision will have 3.22 per acre gross density with a bus parking lot and service facility right in the middle of it. You can say two homes per acre all you want, the fact is that they are cramming them all in and the subdivision will NOT LOOK ANYTHING LIKE TWO HOMES PER ACRE AT ALL. This sure is rural residential isn't it.

Advantage ??

I'm still trying to understand the advantage here - if the school system does not take a land donation all the homes still get built in a slightly less dense fashion.

If the school does take a donation, the homes get built in a manner more dense - either way they get built.

Why can't we go to a zoning meeting and ask for a donation from the developer to the schools & less density? I haven't seen anything carved in stone yet. Our community should be getting something from every developer that comes into our district instead of giving them a free ride at the expense of our school system. Until we get a formal mechanism in place this needs to be facilitated by the Township, City and School District. As voters we should be making sure they understand what we want so that we can be represented.
Huh??!?

What in the world do you think the city has to do with this? What exactly has the schools done in any spirit of cooperation with the city since last November? The newly elected PLSD members did nothing more than ride on the coat tails of the city officials that got elected. They would never have been able to do it on their own. THEN they turn their back on the city as usual. All they have done since last November is come into the city and ask to have fees waivered and to be cut a break at every turn. They also wanted the TIF language rewritten so they would quit pouting.

What has the township done to cooperate with the city since last November? They appeared to settle one lawsuit but to whose advantage was it? The township also has no intention of working with the city on anything. The township will say ''Oooh, we don't have the authority to do anything.''

Give me a break. Dunlap and Myers are from the school that only houses bring money into their coffers. The more they build, the more they have.

Annexation settlement

I believe the City will gain a great deal from the annexation agreement. The City will receive property tax from the houses/land as well as the income taxes from those folks living in the newly annexed area. Of course, the City would have realized much more if they had not granted the pre-annexation agreement of reduction/elimination of park fees, storm water fees, building fees, etc.
