Has Picktown been sold out?

Posted in: PATA
Last Friday I heard on the local radio that the BIA had settled their law suit with Pickerington. The local station, WTVN 610, stated that they were basing their report on an article from Business First.

Now getting a copy of Business First only infuriates me even more. Here is a quote from the BIA attorney Liz Stanton,

''Elizabeth Stanton, a partner with Chester Wilcox & Saxbe LLP representing the home builders, said the proposed legislative package represents a ''global settlement'' of the 2003 lawsiut and the related zoning issues that sparked the dispute.

''This settles the claims of the BIA and all of the developers who are parties to the lawsuit,'' she said. ''As part of the settlement agrement, the city and BIA have agreed to work together in the development of a new comprehensive plan guiding the city's future growth and prosperity.''

Hey wait one damn minute here. Who authorized our city council to work together with the BIA for ''Future Growth and PROSPERITY?''

Who's prosperity???????????

When was this law suit settled? I know there are some ordinances on the city agenda but a coop effort on prosperity with the BIA my butt.

The city has been so good in recent months by posting the city council agendas on the Pickerington WEB site. Now when this suit appears to be in final negotiations they have nothing on their WEB site to refer to.

David what is happening down their? What are you doing? Are you selling the Pickerington Citizens out? Sure sounds like it with Liz Stanton's remarks and the concealing of the agendas on the Pickerington WEB site.

I think there needs to be some explaining Lucy. I hope you haven't fallen for the BIA line that they want to help us all with ''affordable housing B.S.''

Why isn't the local press reporting anything? Whats going on here?

Hold your horses

That attorney said many things that aren't quite true, but the BIA probably wishes they were.

Council tabled all ordinances relating to the settlement of the suit until further investigation is completed.

Also they got them a new lawyer that might just not sell them out with his advice like in the past.

Stay tuned.....
Tabled

I see the new cub reporter for Business First, Yosemite Sam, apparently decked out in his western garb complete with his ''six shooters.'' Apparently Sam has drawn his six shooters to blast those dang nabit Pickerington zero growth guys and apparently pulled his triggers before the barrels had cleared the holsters.

After seeing that the Pickerington WEB site actually came back on line today it appears to me that the council tabled the ordinance to settle this law suit a few days before Sam wrote his article. So much for getting the scoop Sam.

Sam, I heard at the Chances ''R'' last night that City Council was working on a zero housing moratorium for three years. Is their any truth to that Sam?

Sam you need to call that lawyer friend of yours at the BIA and find out if that is true. Is the BIA agreeing to the moratorium?

Sam before you call you probably should make sure the builders have their ads in for next month before reporting again.

Obviously David and the city are taking their time. Maybe Sam and the rest of the morons at the BIA should wait a little while longer before publically doing their spin.

SEEMS AS THOUGH -

Mr. Parker and Mr. Wright made it necessary for the new Council to try something to undo the damage they, plus Bushman, Postage, etc., did by approving all the developments before the 2/Acre went into effect.

However, it seems that the BAD GUYS who sued the City came out smelling all the roses while those who did not join in the law suit will be limited to two/Acre. Wrong wins again.
