War on Terror - Not in Iraq
I've read the series of messages. You are quite mis-informed. I see you are swallowing party line hook line and sinker. We have lost 1000+ soldiers, (mothers, fathers, sons and daughters) fighting a war of choice based on lies. Read the paper or the 911 commission report. Better yet, open up your mind and view farenheit 9/11. Mr. Cheney is trying to scare people by saying a vote for Kerry is a vote for another terrorist attack. Your incorrect representation of Mr. Kerry's proposals on taxes is a similar attempt to scare people. We cannot go on with the tax cuts mr. bush has put in place. Trickle down economics is complete baloney. It is reasonable to ask people who profit the most from our economic system to pay a little more in taxes. The deficit is big enough. The next president will have to raise taxes. I am more concerned about how the reputation of my country is been lowered around the world by this arrogant man. His unilateral war of choice has increased hatred of America and turned iraq into a petri-dish for growing terrorists. It is frustrating to me that Mr. Kerry has not made a more compelling case for our votes. But Mr. Bush's own record is a compelling case to reject him.

I agree with one point
I don't believe that Mr. Kerry or Mr. Edwards have made any type of case at all about how they intend to fund the ''Stronger America'' they tout. Taxing businesses that outsource & people with incomes of $200K doesn't add up to the amount of money they want to spend.
Where does the rest of it come from??
I have listedned to both sides trying to find the common ground I need to go into the voting booth this November. It is sadly lacking in both camps - both have issues I don't agree with, I believe that would be the case with any two men running for office. You don't agree with everyone on everything. You need to look at the big picture. BTW, I have seen Michael Moore's 9/11 and if you believe that my friend (wild eyed liberal) there are probably more fairy tales for you to see this week at the box office. Of course, our democratic presidents are famous for exempting our Hollywood friends from the tax cuts they say that income level needs to pay......
What I can say is that I am not looking at service records that are decades old as a deciding factor. I like the fact that George Bush believes in God & is devout in his belief. I believe that Kerry has found religion during his campaign but has shown an insincerity that is disappointing. How are you Roman Catholic & Pro-Choice ? You aren't. So there is another option - Kerry is still pro-choice but is not sincere in his beliefs - if he was he would have found a venue to allow both - obviously, that wasn't particularly important to him until recently.
I don't know if George Bush did the right thing with Iraq. I also don't believe that Iraq is one decision. It was a series. I do believe doing nothing after 9/11 would not have kept our country safe. I do believe without a line drawn in the sand there would have been additional attacks on American soil & additional lives lost.
Being a victim is not a strategy.
We were attacked because our past President demonstrated that when you attack America we do nothing or at least nothing well thought out. Bill Clinton was responsible for many deaths of our Rangers - I believe there's another movie for your list to see. He sent them into combat without support.
Being a leader isn't about being popular - it's a given that you can't please everyone. Our troops support this President & I support our troops.
While Kerry's war record isn't anything I would look at to call him a leader. What else has he done to show the leadership qualities we need ?? He bashes Bush at every turn but I don't see where he is getting jobs for the heartland - as stated in his ads. And they are high paying jobs & lots of them. Where are they coming from ?? Maybe Teresa is opening a Ketchup factory with $50,000 jobs in abundance.
It's easier to be the opposition than part of the solution.
But regardless of who wins in November there needs to be a little civility brought back to politics. Our children watch us act like rabid dogs about this election - is that what you want them to learn? A sitting President whether it's Bush, Clinton or someone else deserves the respect that goes with the office regardless of your party affiliation. Last time I looked we were all Americans.

Why Germany?
I wanted to respond to the Liberal and Iraq.
He accuses me of using the Bush/Cheney campaign propaganda and then recites word for word the Kerry material.
Using the Liberal logic why did the United States also declare War on Germany after December 7th 1941? I am sure a 12/7 commission of that day would have found no links between Hitler and Togo. I doubt there was any money or spies exchanged or met in some far off land.
Then after the Bataan Death March would a John Kerry have stepped forward and through his medals for New Guinea into the river? Why did the US bother with Australia, The Philippines and those scores of islands in the Pacific?
Why did my father lead his Ohio National Guard company back into the Philippines in 1945?
As for using the Michael Moore film as reference material that speaks volumes. I didn't listen to Michael Moore when he thought he was a comedian let alone now as a serious historian both are frauds.
Bush and Cheney are correct in telling us all the REAL dangers we face. I saw on PBS last night a clip from Osama and his Radical Muslins had declared ware on the US in 1998. His groups are in every Muslin Country in the World. The highest concentration is in the Middle East. Iraq sits square in the middle of them.
Why do we send our troops out on patrol around our encampments when in a dangerous area? It puts these patrols in harms way. There purpose is to be the eyes and ears of the larger force. General Lee's Calvary didn't get to Gettysburg in time and it put him and his troops at a disadvantage in planning their attack on the Union Army. If Iran does develop that Nuclear War head where do you want our troops and Military next door in Iraq or in Germany like Kerry suggests? Do you believe they will only attack Isreal?
