With respect to the ?“attempt?” to help the traffic situation in this community, the recent regional band-aides are not going to make things better for daily commuters (stay-at-home moms & dads notwithstanding).
To address your conundrum, ?“Can you offer any suggestions on how to improve the crime situation?: the basic problem with this community and America as a whole is that we have lost our moral compass, largely because we are fixated on television (?…and the reason for this fixation is laziness with a sprinkle of selfishness ?– gotta get on with life even though johnny and jill are hittin?’ prepubescent age?… ?“Honey, daddy and I are going out tonight, why don?’t you call your friends over for a sleep-over?… American Pie-2 is on HBO. You can all watch it on the big screen TV?”).
We get the bulk of our moral and social values from whatever the mass media feed us via cable, satellite, radio etc. We?’re saturated with media mega-stars that bare-all, tell-all, and curse-all twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week! We?’re led to believe that Brittany, Christina, Madonna, Ludacris, 50-cent and the like are now American Idols (gods) and you too can have a slice of the pie they?’re eating if only you?’d do the same.
The same? 50 cent got shot 8 times, Brittney sleeps around while telling reporters she still a ?“virgin?” (?…oops) and Christina is bisexual. Ludacris believes women are 4-legged beasts and Madonna? Do I really need to go on?
Translation to our youth: Dress slutty, act like gangsta rappers, sleep around, act on your ?“sexuality?”, and?…. ?“ ?‘pop?’ any fool that threatens your manhood and you?’ll get props from your peeps.?”
Our youth never really have a chance to get their feet off the ground. They get hooked on pot first, then methamphetamines, crack or something else that requires a healthy dose of constant cash. Then comes petty theft.
Petty theft ?– isn?’t this what we?’re dealing with right now - disenfranchised youth needing a quick buck or two to get high?
But let?’s just say that the youngsters make it out of H.S. without a rap sheet. What next? The sitcoms or X-Box don?’t actually show anyone working ?“hard?” to get ahead in life. Who?’s got time to ?“work hard?”? Bust a window, snatch a purse and get paid NOW!!!
No one, not even the media can possibly assert that what gangsta rappers or scantly clad divas are doing is helpful to society. In fact, the claim by most gangsta rappers is exactly the opposite. These morally bankrupt millionaires claim to be reflecting what really goes on in urban life. So instead of shunning and rejecting these violent acts, which include: theft, rape, sodomy, muggings and murder; the media, gangsta rap and pop-diva community embrace it, normalize it as ?“godly?” behavior (did you see that 120ct. diamond crucifix ?‘round his neck?). Anyone with a shred of decency wouldn?’t listen to this trash but this is exactly what I?’m hearing in my backyard at 99db from a $1,000 stereo in a $100 Pinto driven by OUR TEENS! YIKES!!!!
We Need More Law Enforcement No Matter the Cost
Tuesday I watched two drivers on 204 wait well over an hour for a Sheriff to arrive to their bad accident report. The Fairfield Co Sheriff is stretched paper thin, but they don?’t want you to know it. They need more deputies ?– not a politically correct request in a time of stretched budgets. On my street speeding is rampant and there?’s no law enforcement what so ever.
