Yee-Haa is not a Foreign Policy
Anonymous.......
My memory is not short. I too had relatives that served in WW2 and am happy that they were around to enrich my life growing up.
Please be advised that I do not advocate a ''cut and run'' approach. We are stuck in Iraq now and must leave the situation better than we found it. Anyone should be able to see that this will take years.
MY PROBLEM is that I feel we went to Iraq (a) Prior to finishing the job in Afganistan. (b) Without a proper plan and exit strategy. (c)Without international support.
I stated in my previous postion that ''The majority of Bush supporters that I have spoken to have either no children or daughters.'' Read that again. THE ONES THAT I HAVE SPOKEN TO. I did not claim as you said that Bush supporters don't have kids in jeopardy of being drafted.
Questioning our administration is a right in this country. A right that was won by those that fought and died before us.
As for the draft returning, that is MY opinion. I don't see how anyone could look at the situation we are in and not think it is on the way back.
You said that you don't like the situation in Iraq and are still voting for Bush. To each his / her own.
So, according to you, I am a coward for questioning our present administration, should shut the hell up and should move to Canada.
So typical.

WRONG!
Mr. Butt: You and John Kerry and your ilk are WRONG! We did NOT ''go it alone'' in Iraq. I believe there are 38 nations who have sent troops. That is not ''going it alone''. And your candidate repeatedly calls our allies ''coerced and bribed'', etc. That sure is a real good way to keep their support.
John Kerry wants France, Germany, and the UN to approve everything we do. That's the thanks we get for saving Europe's ass in WWII. The UN is a toothless bunch of money-draining anti-US crybabies, who like nothing better than to stick it to the US every chance they get.
Thank goodness we have a leader who stands up for what is right.

Peace will come
Mr. Butt
You did more than just comment or question George W. Bush on the Iraq policy and war. You are trying to inflame people with fear. The very same fear you and John Edwards accused Cheney of doing.
Your John Kerry voted against the first Gulf war and Bush 41 had most of the Arab nations in that coalition. Once we ran all over the Iraqi army everyone was on board.
Now in 2002 John Kerry voted for the current war in Iraq and now says (July 2004) he would do the same thing knowing what he knows now. Just this past week he complains about the $200 Billion spent in Iraq that could have been spent on domestic needs. Does that mean he is now against the war?
The administration has said we will reduce our troop levels once the Iraqi Army gets up to speed. I believe they have in uniform over 200,000 Iraqi men and women. The Iraqis are going on joint patrols with the Americans and they are taking causalities just like the Americans. At some point we will need to let them take over.
What is very disturbing to me in this public protest is the consequences on our troops still in country. If our enemies sense we have lost our resolve as a nation then they can prolong the war thus causing more US deaths. The U. S. Senate was given the chance to vote on this. They voted to give the President the authority to wage war against Saddam. Mr. Kerry had the same intelligence information as the President. The rest of the world knew the same information the President had. They proceeded to war based on that information. One part of the facts were wrong (APPARENTLY) because they have not found the nuclear war heads we were so worried about in 2002.
Our troops have encountered the chemical war heads and they have found the long range missiles. They also found a lap top computer that gave away a lot of Al Qaeda agents all over the world. The press doesn't talk about this but this lap top was found at an Al Qaeda training camp in Iraq.
Saddam was very involved with world terrorist.
Iraq before Saddam was one of the most progressive countries in the Middle East and its people are educated and they are not ruled by a religious fanatic. The rest of the world has a very good chance now that Iraq will become a democracy. Its people only need to taste that freedom and know they will have our support.
The Kurds are doing fine and most of Iraq is under control. Once the Iraqis gain enough strength they will push these insurgences out.
