As of 9/19/04, 1027 U.S. Troops have died since the beginning of military operations in Iraq. (Source: Columbus Dispatch, 9/19/04)
1027 flag drapped coffins that the Bush administration has not allowed the media to show you.
1027 sons and daughters that will not be returning home.
1027 lives lost to a mis-guided mission without a clear exit strategy.
Over 800 lives lost since George declared ''Mission Accomplished''.
Way to go George.

Not exactly
Mr. Bush never said, ''MissionAccomplished''. That was the sign hung by the forces on the ship he visited. The mission, which WAS accomplished, was to get rid of Saddam Hussein.
Did you protest as much against the thousands of young men and women who were killed in Viet Nam?

1027 +
Tigerpanther,
To answer your question, NO I did not protest the VietNam war this much. At the time I was too young to be this aware.
I am now of age to be aware. I also have childred now to be worried about. This is more about our childern than my personal safety.
One thing that I have noticed is that the biggest supporters of Bush and his war have NO children likely to be DRAFTED.
Yes, I said the D word.
If you believe that we can continue down this path without bringing bach the draft, you are sadly misguided.
The majority of Bush supporters that I have spoken to have either no children or daughters.
It is easy to suport war with words, but when it comes up to putting up your own flesh and blood, it gets a little harder.
If you are so darn GUNG-HO about this war, why don't you sign up your kids or grandkids to fight on the front lines.
And another thing, let the media show the coffins arriving in the middle of the night so the people can put a human price on Bush's Words Of Mass Deception.

Thank Reagan your son is safe
It never seizes to amaze me how we have such a free country and it is filled with citizens with very short memories. My maternal grandmother sent two sons to World War II and two sons to the Korean War. My paternal grandmother sent three sons to World War II. These sons saw battle at Pearl Harbor, The Coral Sea, Korea and The Philippines. They were proud and thankful that their sons came home unhurt.
Now we have Americans ready to cut and run at the first sight of blood. Mr. Butt is worried about his flesh and blood. He also claims the Bush supporters don't have kids in jeopardy of being drafted.
First the US doesn't have a Military Draft like has been rumored for months now by the Kerry supporters. The US Military forces became ALL voluntary during the Ronald Reagan years. He gave them huge pay raises and provided them with the weapon systems to protect them . Please check John Kerry's record on supporting the troops. Part of what Kerry voted against in the $87 Billion was body armor and COMBAT PAY. Kerry claims he voted against the $87 Billion because it was complicated.
It is not very complicated to have 1027 US men and women dead because we didn't provide them the equipment they needed.
Unless you want to live in Canada so you can live free and safe at the expense of the US military then you must either pay for those that VOLUNTEERS to defend this country or shut the hell up.
I have members of my family serving in Iraq. I am going to vote for Bush. I don't like the idea of Iraq, but I know it is much better for the SAFETY of even the cowards that live free in this country to have the war over there instead of at the four way stop in Pickerington.
The last great Democratic President was Franklin Roosevelt. He did not have that barrier of fear that so many of this fellow democrats now have. When Pearl Harbor was attacked he saw the entire problem and set about to engage ALL of our enemies.
LBJ was frozen in Viet Nam by the invisible wall of fear that if we followed the North Viet Cong into Hanoi that he would start world war three. I believe to this day they we should have landed our troops into Hanoi Harbor and taken care of business.
Ronald Reagan had no fear of the Evil Empire. He pursued his policies to bankrupt the Soviet Union and he did. I might add over the objections of the Ted Kennedy liberals.
George W. Bush told us at the beginning of this war that it will take years. If we pull back now it will be just a matter of time before we are attacked again on our soil.
I thank the lord every day that my love ones are safe and we are not cowering here in America waiting for that next attack. We should all be very thankful of those Voluntary troops.
