You're right - I was only talking about the Republican central committee. I don't follow Democratic committee's nor have I EVER seen anything posted on this site about the Democratic committee races.

Sorry to offend your 'thick skin' but I've seen countless postings here about CURE, Brian Fox's leadership, etc. So maybe it was a little biased on my part to only include the Republican reorganization. However, IF there was something EVER discussed here about the Dem's then I would have questioned what the original poster was inquiring about!

Open Forum

I would hope this discussion area is an open forum for issues and concerns affecting our lives,our community, & our government, regardless of party affiliation. Ethics, integrity, moral character, and a sense of responsibility to the voters/taxpayers is a prereq for any officeholder. I think the last local election showed that we will not settle for less.

Our government has attempted to follow the ideals of checks and balances.(in theory)

Yes, there is a Democratic Party organizational meeting.

Yes, there is a Republican Party organizational meeting.

However, if one were to look at the County Board of Elections website -- http://www.electionohio.com/fairfield/pdf/2004-DemocratCentralCommitteeCand.pdf you'll find some 70 or so precincts County wide with no Democratic citizen attempting to run to represent that precinct.

That's about 70 precincts out of about 118. No representation , no voice of party organization of the democrates living in those precincts.

Once one looks a little closer at that website you'll find that in the around PLSD boundaries the democrates winning positions for the reorganizational meeting of that party can be counted on one hand.

Those are sad figures for any checks and balances of a 2 party system. Perhaps that is why some formed CURE to develop a check and balance (a choice) over the ways of politics that were so stagnant?
