I see in the Dispatch this morning that good old Billy Wright is looking out for all of us by really questioning the salary offer made to this new manager. Doug Parker has chimed in as well. Now both of these clowns were on council during the rein of Queen Joyce. They never questioned her income. Even to the point of asking why was she satisfied with an $84,000 per year check. Maybe it was the fact that she was able to execute options on land purchases from farm land to PR-6 and she didn't ever make the disclosure to anyone and this property was later rezoned and we built the Diley Middle School on part of the land. I believe undeveloped land is a steal when compared to residential zoned land. Especially when the buyer of the undeveloped land also supervises the zoning director.
I understand she would pump her own gas from the city pumps with no charge. I further understand that she would have he car detailed at the taxpayers expense.
Now where were Bill Wright and Doug Parker when all of this was going on? Not saying a word. Who was watching the purse strings when these two worked out that wonderful TIF with the schools weeks before the election in 2001. In return for their silent Parker gave the schools $100,000 for lots being developed that may never be developed.
How about the gifts that Parker and Wright gave to the home builders over the last two years. Maybe it is time for council to air some dirty laundry.
