Sewer Plant

Posted in: PATA
if...

If a plant of some size isn't built it is quite likely the Ohio EPA will FORCE the city to build a plant. They have that type of power.

You can also expect many, many more lawsuits. The city annexed all tons of land stating they can provide the services and if they don't then provide them the new admin will get sued over the last admin's decisions.

If a plant isn't built then you can be guaranteed no commercial building will occur in the city. The first thing everyone thinks of is no more homes but there are some serious consequences if we don't provide expanded sewer services.
I don't think so

Dear If,

We need to check with the web master and see if we can keep Mrs. Bushman from making stupid statements on this web site.

Apparently the anonymous poster predicts chaos in the streets of Pickerington if a sewer plant is not built. We will be sued by everyone and life will end as we all seem to know it.

The fact that the city council is about to blow off the current sewer expansion project doesn't mean that the city isn't going to provide service to the residents both current and future. The City of Pickerington currently has a 1.8 MGD NPDES permit and they are only using 1.1 MGD of that permit. Just repairing or refurbishing the present plant would provide capacity to over 2000 homes.

The Ohio EPA isn't going to sue anyone. They may be a little upset with Pickerington and they may fine the city if they have over flows into the Sycamore Creek but they can't force the city build anything.

Parker has been saying a long time that we can't have commercial development without the expansion. That is also false and we currently have capacity to provide service to any commercial property that wants to move here. Where was Parker when he voted to change all of that land west of Diley road from business park to R-4 residential in 2001??? He had the opportunity to stop the houses but he sit on his butt. In fact he testified at the public hearing for the builders and the developers. Parker and the developers attorney. How's that for being impartial? Do any of us think we could have swayed Parker and that group of crooks that were on council in 2001?

Now for the Law suits that we must expect because we promised sewer taps to them in exchange for annexing. Isn't that contract zoning and isn't that illegal? Besides most of the two annexations in court are going to be serviced by the county. Those that have already sued the city are the only ones that have any claim to sewer service. Once they resolve the sewer service to their lots issue then they will need to worry if they can get a building permit.

I would expect an extension of the current moratorium and I would expect it soon.

The Pickerington citizens need to come out Tuesday and speak out against loony tunes like below. They are the fear mongers that are trying to scare the pants off of the residents with lies. That is how we got in this mess.
