Soddy workmanship?

How to really learn

4 days later ?– now we are getting reporting. A 60 second video isn?’t reporting. The who, what, where, and most importantly WHY is reporting.

We all know details that out of town reporters don?’t find first. If we want to be more informed and help your neighbors and friends be more informed keep asking questions here. It?’s the one place that we can.

By now you aren?’t being sheep
Turner

Did anyone else notice in the Dispatch that a New Albany Elementary school also had a water break. Interestingly the contractor there was also Turner Construction.
PATA spent the time on City

Maybe PATA spent too much time on the City Hall folks the last couple of years and laid off the school district.

Clearly if we now see that both New Albany and Pickerington are having quality problems with their new school buildings and these buildings were built by Turner then maybe the no bid contracts didn't work. I guess why did we aware this contract as a no bid award? That is exactly what the city does with their engineering to certain firms.

We should know if we got the BEST deal here with the school district that the $77 million they spent on the North High School. Did those on the school board at the time spend too much on the pretty things like art work and special lighting to just make things look more attractive and not necessarily functional? What in the world is wrong with to the people here in Pickerington not only did we spend $5 million dollars downtown Pickerington to make that look pretty and while we were at it we made those down town streets dysfunctional so that school buses couldn't make the turns at the four way stop.

Now we spend $77 million to build a school that can't keep the building warm in near zero temperatures. The pipes freeze and it floods the media center. Fortunately no one uses that area. It would have been a district calamity if it had flooded the basketball courts or ruined the football field. I guess we missed a bullet here by only soaking down some books and computers.

I would suggest that we get people over to that school and find out some answers as Mr. Johnson suggests. Maybe it is time for another audit from the state. This time lets focus in on the contract procedures in place at the school board.

PATA's to blame?

It's interesting that you think PATA is to blame for the flood at Pickerington North. PATA negotiated no contracts, and when I look through old postings on this Discussion page and scroll through old newsletters, I see quite a bit of disapproval about the former school board's actions. You are correct in that there was also a lot of press on the wrong-doings at City Hall, but it looks as though that problem may now be corrected, if I am interpreting the last election correctly. The school board also looks like it's getting back on track.

Where were you? Are we talking about the same PATA? Or can I assume you are just a disgruntled city ex-official spouting off hoping to redirect the blame for your loss?
