Soddy workmanship?

Posted in: PATA
It was reported

The story was actually on one of the local stations...I forget which one.

There was video of the pipe that had burst and Violet Township Fire Fighters brooming the water out the door.

I would assume that the Violet Fire Dept was there because it was a sprinkler pipe that burst and it set off an alarm.

Frozen pipes???

In today's Columbus Dispatch they do report again on the flooding at the Pickerington North High School. They say the pipes that burst were frozen sprinkler system pipes. Now if it is getting cold enough in that building to freeze the sprinkler pipes then what about our kids?

My daughter has complained that the school was hot and cold in places. Apparently it is very cold in some places. Now when the newspaper called the contractor they wouldn't return calls. They sure as hell cashed our check when we paid them for the construction. I am also sure that if those checks had bounce we could have received a return call.

no school because of pipes?

I was wondering why we did not have school today, my cul de sac street was plowed and salted before 5 am, IT is one of the last street to be plowed in the township. Is the high school flooding today?

more to problem

Notice you're discussing a Dispatch article. Remember the Dispatch series on other districts who used state money for school buildings, but hadn't secured competitive bids on most aspects of the construction? The compared the costs of those schools to the costs of those that did secure competitive bids. It didn't look good.

I called, and since the state fund didn't pay for our school, no study was done. But, the reporter told me that they have to keep the records or something that allowed them to go in and identify the ''no bid'' items because a particular manufacturer or installer was shown in the specs. I called the business office and asked what I would have to do to get a look at those, and after being evasive, they agreed that the ''nine books'' full of info were available for me to review during certain hours. (but they were not happy about it)

I don't have that kind of time, but if you're going to be mad about the school, I bet there's more than just this to be mad about.
