Good job Willard
Willard,
You offer some terrific insight. Now tell me, in that same paper is a list of candidates. Who do you think would be a good fit for the vacant council seat?

So many candiates one opening
I will tell you that the list includes people I have never heard of. I believe there were 13 on the list and with the exception of two I see the City of Pickerington and it citizens now stepping up to the plate to serve. This is a new trend in Pickerington Politics and it is a welcomed movement. Clearly finding good honest citizens willing to serve that do not have ties to special interests will mean the city might enjoy a better managed City Hall in the future.

I know a few
It appears we have two also-ran candidates from the council race in November. What? Do they feel they are ''owed'' a seat? One in particular has documented ties to former regimes and developers. Another couldn't garner enough votes to get elected to the PTA.
We have a former Mayoral candidate in there. Wasn't he one of the last minute recruits by a former mayor and current developer?
I see a deposed president of a now famous republican club.
The rest - who knows?????

Test Them
Here's an idea, how about a written test. Given a few of the names I see here, this simple test will likely weed out about half of the candidates. Here's the test, only one question in two parts...
1. Define the following terms:
''Majority''
''Represent''
I see several folks on that list that will struggle with these definitions, and I think I see a couple who know exactly what these terms mean. I'll depend on our newly elected councilpersons to sort out who's who...
