Thanks to everyone who attended the meetings in order to start up a Block Watch Program for the Oak Lea Neighborhood and for taking an interest in the safety of your home, family, and neighborhood.  Crime prevention begins with YOU & ME.  One of the key activities anyone can do, no special skills or time commitments are required, is just to become more aware of your surroundings. A willingness to know your neighbors, what type of car they drive, and just knowing a few of their basic habits will make it easier to spot things out of the ordinary.  If you observe something that you are not comfortable with but do not know if it should be reported, call the police anyway @ Crime Tip Hotline (574-5673).

A strong Neighborhood Block Watch can help to bring down crime in a neighborhood.  So, let’s do what we can and get behind our Block Watch Captains and bring down crime in our neighborhood.
