Riggins Called as Interim Pastor

A well known and much loved pastor from the Louisville area has been tabbed as Interim Minister for Newburg Christian Church. Rev. Proctor Riggins will begin his ministry at NCC starting February 1, 2009.
Rev. Riggins, and his wife Betty, have been serving most recently at Olive Hill Christian Church in Indianapolis, IN. They have been serving that church by commuting back and forth from their home in Floyds Knobs, IN. Proctor says he loves the people at Olive Hill, but he?’s ready to give up the weekly drive.
Rev. Riggins met with the Interim Pastor Search Team and came away very impressed with the leadership and community that exists within this church. He?’s excited and ready to begin his ministry and get to know his new congregation.
Proctor knows the Louisville area very well having served as chaplain of the Christian Church Homes (now known as Christian Care Communities) for 17 years. He has also served a number of other congregations in the Louisville area as pastor, interim pastor, or minister of pastoral care. He has served Fairview Christian Church, Valley Christian Church, Middletown Christian Church and Douglas Boulevard Christian Church. Proctor is also active with the Metro Disciples Clergy group that meets monthly in Louisville. He is full of energy and ready to serve NCC to the best of his abilities.
