MISSION STATEMENT

The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence - Orange County will be the leader and most highly visible central source of information in our region for education, prevention, intervention, and referral to programs of treatment for alcoholism and other drug and/or chemical dependency.

To achieve its mission, NCADD-OC

Provides leadership in formulation of public policy issues;

Gathers and disseminates valid public educational information about abuse of alcohol and other drugs, alcoholism, other drug addictions, and related problems;

Recruits and organizes a county-wide constituency in support of these efforts; and

Creates broad-based approaches to marketing, brokering , and distributing innovative programs and services based on the latest research and information.

NCADD-OC carries out its mission by direct action of the Coyuncil's Board of Directors and stall. NCADD-OC works cooperatively with a wide variety of groups and individuals to address concerns about alcoholism, other drug addictions/chemical dependencies and related problems.

NCADD-OC CONTINUOSLY LOOK FOR OPPORTUNITIES TO COLLABORATE WITH LOCAL AGENCIES IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS:

As a Resource Center for information on existing community services and availability;
As a liaison between Community leaders and the community needs;
As a consultant on local issues pertinent to addiction and prevention;
